After seven years of building an Environmental Lawyer career dealing with EU Affairs regarding energy matters in Brussels, Carla quit this lifestyle to follow a profound calling to become a Death Doula. Her favourite Death Doula and ultimate teacher is Ayahuasca herself.
In 2022, together with her husband Fred, Carla created Taozen with the aim of sharing ancestral wisdom whilst collaborating with the indigenous Amazonian communities that have preserved the sacred medicines throughout the centuries.
Carla is now a certified psychedelic preparation & integration specialist that bridges science and spirituality. She works with a Jungian dreamwork technique called Embodied Imagination for Psychedelic Preparation & Integration developed in the 1980s by Dutch Jungian psychoanalyst Robert Bosnak. Given the remarkable similarities in the neural pathways and neurochemistry of brains that are either dreaming or having a psychedelic journey, Carla loves to employ dreamwork techniques to help people integrate their plant medicine journeys.
Carla is also a devoted Ashtangi and Yoga Teacher, offering yoga and meditation sessions in each Taozen retreat to help the community prepare and integrate their sacred plant medicine ceremonies.
She is currently finalising her Priestesshood studies in a Mystery School, focusing on ancient Egyptian mysticism, alchemy, Hermetic philosophy, death doula work, dreamwork, shamanism, reiki, qigong, astrology, divination and oracle arts. She is also a student of the Tarot, the Kabbalah, and the Gene Keys. Carla uses all these tools in service to the Taozen community.
