Dona Txima has been instrumental in reviving the sacred wisdom of the Huni Kuin. She is the elder representative of the Keneya Xarabu Collective, which was founded in 2022 by a small group of Huni Kuin women from the Espelho da Vida Village (Acre, Brazil), with the aim of developing socio-environmental female entrepreneurship.

Through the Keneya Xarabu Collective, they hope to empower Huni Kuin women by fostering their leadership and enhancing their economic opportunities, whilst emphasising the importance of cultural preservation and the respect for the environment.

At a time when the Huni Kuin's ancestral knowledge was fading with few practitioners left to carry it forward, Dona Txima took it upon herself to seek its restoration.

Traveling around the indigenous lands, she immersed herself in the teachings of her ancestors, deepening her understanding and reconnecting with the traditions that were at risk of being lost.

Upon returning to her Espelho da Vida Village, she became a guiding force, sharing this wisdom with the women of her community and ensuring its survival for future generations.

A master of Huni Kuin artistry and a revered traditional shaman who works with ayahuasca, kambó, rapé and sananga, among others, Dona Txima embodies the resilience and strength of her people.
